Dr. Ishmaeal Yamson, Board Chairman of MTN Ghana thanked the golfers for honouring the invitation to the quarterly MTN invitational Golf Tournament.

He said in his speech that after their last engagement at the Achimota golf club, they have had the opportunity to engage some people at different platforms and the tournament gives another opportunity to network, forge stronger relationships and enjoy our favorite game.

“One of our primary goals when we developed the concept of the invitational golf tournament was to foster cordial relationship with our key stakeholders – the gradual acceptance and increase in participation by those who matter in the business space is a testament to the critical role these invitational tournaments play in the business sector.

“The last time we met, we invited you to subscribe to our share offer. Thankfully, our message was well received. As a result, we successfully closed our IPO at the end of July achieving the requirements for the IPO to be deemed successful. We listed on the Ghana stock Exchange on September 5th and trading is currently ongoing” he said.

“Permit me to share with you some significant milestones achieved with the IPO. MTN IPO has contributed significantly to the number of Ghanaians with shares at the Stock Exchange. The MTN IPO is almost double the size of all previous equity IPO’s on the Ghana Stock Exchange put together. It is the first IPO in the world that used technology (Mobile Money) as a medium to subscribe shares. We achieved this feat with your support. Let’s give ourselves a round of applause.

Ladies and gentlemen, as a business, with more Ghanaian shareholders, we are even more motivated to drive towards the achievement of our vision ‘to lead the delivery of a bold new digital world to our customers”.

“In view of this, the month of September has been dedicated to encourage people to adopt the use of videos to access information that will enhance their businesses and livelihood. This month of iFest presents an opportunity for us all to enjoy discounted data bundles.

“We continue to offer our Fibre to the Home Broadband Service, among others and other digital services to help you live a connected lifestyle. Our team are always available to respond to your needs” he added, and congratulated winners of invitational tournament.
