Ace sports journalist Dan Kwaku Yeboah has given contradictory details on the conversation that happened between Jordan Ayew and James Kwasi Appiah during Ghana's game against Sudan in Accra.

According to his account, Jordan Ayew complained to Kwasi Appiah about Mohammed Kudus being named captain on the eve of the game.

Dan Kwaku Yeboah claimed Jordan was informed he would lead the team in the absence of Thomas Partey, but head coach Otto Addo bypassed him in the final hours to award Kudus the armband without alerting the Leicester City player of the decision.

"One of his (Jordan Ayew's) concerns was that they told him he would captain the team. But he was not informed that the captaincy was being handed to Kudus."

Dan Kwaku Yeboah also indicated that a member of the Ghanaian team pleaded with Kwasi Appiah to calm Jordan Ayew, who was visibly upset in the viral video.

"Kwasi Appiah was asked to speak to him because he was angry."

Kwaku Yeboah claimed to have derived the information from speaking to Kwasi Appiah's close ally.

The revelation is in contrast with an earlier explanation from the GFA deputy communications manager Sheikh Tophic Kadir, who said Jordan complained about the numerous chances missed during the game.

“When I saw the video trending, I went behind the scenes to speak to Kwasi Appiah. From the conversation, Jordan was complaining to Kwasi that he did not understand why the team played so well, created good chances, yet they were unable to score. Watch the video carefully, and you will see him asking ‘why, why.’

"In Kumasi, after we played Niger, Jordan cried. He spoke to Otto Addo the same way after Ghana lost to Angola. So obviously, he was worried about how things panned out,” he explained in Twi while speaking in an interview with Asempa FM.
