Leicester City defender Daniel Amartey has been ruled out of Ghana's crucial 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Ethiopia due to injury.
The 23-year-old suffered an ankle injury last weekend while in action for the Foxes against West Ham United in the Premier League.
According to Leicester boss Claude Puel, he will need at least four months to recover fully which means he will miss the Black Stars' remaining Afcon qualifiers.
The injury represents a severe setback for Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah, who needs to win against Ethiopia in Addis Ababa next month to keep Black Stars hopes alive of reaching an eighth straight Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
