Daniel Opare open to Real Madrid return

Ghana defender Daniel Opare says he will have no problems re-joining Real Madrid if the opportunity arises.

The 23-year-old joined the Spanish giants in 2008 on the back of an impressive display with the Ghana U17 team at the World Cup in South Korea.

Injuries however took the better part of the flying right-back – robbing him off the chance of breaking into the star-studded Madrid first team.

Opare eventually joined to Standard Liege in 2010 where his performances have again alerted several elite clubs in Europe of his quality.

The Ghana international has now revealed he is open to a move back to Real Madrid as the Spanish club still have a stake in him.

The former Ghana youth star however says his return at the request for the Spanish giants will mean they are ready to hand him first team opportunities.

“They [Real Madrid] still have a say in my contract so if they want me to come back I can say anything about that,” he told Happy FM.

“But then it will mean they have made a place for me to come and play.”

Opare has maintained his form in the Belgian top flight and is very much likely to make Ghana’s squad for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
