Daniel Opare struggling with muscle problems at Porto

The Black Stars’ technical team have been furnished with a detailed report on Daniel Opare’s injury situation that reveals the defender is struggling with muscle problems.

The 23-year-old had to be replaced in the latest Ghana squad named by Coach Kwesi Appiah for next month’s 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Opare who only joined Porto this summer, has been taking intense gym sessions as a corrective measure for his latest injury setback.

The Portuguese giants in an e-mail to the Ghana FA, that was passed onto the Black Stars’ technical team, specified in details the muscular problems Opare is encountering.

The informational also stipulated that the situation is not serious and that the right back is expected back within some weeks.

Opare played for Ghana at the 2014 World Cup where he sustained a leg injury during one of the Black Stars’ training sessions.

He however recovered from that setback even though he didn’t play any more games at the tournament staged in Brazil.

The ex-Real Madrid youth star will again be missing when Ghana opens its qualifying campaign for next year’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco on September 5th against Uganda.

The Black Stars will then make the short trip to face neighbouring Togo in the next qualifying match.

Opare’s place in the latest Ghana squad has since been taken by TP Mazembe defender, Yaw Frimpong.
