Danning given green light for U20 World Cup

Sydney FC young gun Kofi Danning has been given the all clear to represent Australia at the U20 World Cup.

The 18-year old was born in Ghana but has been living in Australia for the past 10 years and with new international eligibility rules, it was uncertain if he could be selected for the Young Socceroos.

But Danning has been given an exemption and U20s coach Jan Versleijen is now free to choose him for his World Cup squad which will be announced on September 7.

The FIFA U20 World Cup will be held in Egypt beginning in October this year.
