Former Kotoko striker Dauda Mohammed sustained a concussion during Vitesse Arnhem's 4-1 win over NAC Breda in the Dutch Eredivisie on Saturday.
Dauda, who broke his goal-scoring duck for the Vitas in last week's 3-0 win against Emmen FC, was oozing with confidence and started the game against Breda on a brighter note.
But the 21-year-old's evening was truncated after suffering concussion three minutes after the hour mark following a heavy fall.
He initially wanted to continue playing, but coach Leonid Slutsky did not want to take a risk by replacing him with Thomas Buitink.
He will undergo a further test on Sunday to determine the extent of the injury.
In the wake of the match, coach Slutsky was quizzed to shed more light upon the injury, he said, "The doctor did not like it that he went further, so I told him to get out."
Dauda joined the club on loan from Belgian giants RSC Anderlecht during the winter transfer window.
