ANDRE “Dede” Ayew has bounced back from injury to strut his stuff with Olympique Marseille in pre-season alongside new team mate, Hatem Ben Arfa. Dede has played in all two matches for Marseille so far in their pre-season friendlies. He was in action in their 3-1 defeat by Istres on Thursday and was again in the starting line up on Saturday in the 3-3 draw with Michael Essien's former club, Bastia, even though he was substituted in the 24th minute by Begeorgi.
Speaking about his expectations this season Dede had this to say:
“I'm only 18 years and a young player learning. For me the most important thing is to do better than last season. Last season, I played a few matches in Ligue 1, the Champions League and the Cup in France. I will try to do better, to get selected more and be more often in the starting line-up. I do train with great players and that can only make me grow as a person. That is what I have to do. To try and do better than last season.
When asked about his younger brother Jordan, 16, who won the juniors cup with Olympique Marseille, Dede said; “I'm really happy for him and for the club. This is the first time that Marseille has won this title is in this category.
My brother played 4 matches of the tournament final and I'm really proud of him and hope it will continue like that”. He added.
