Dede 'frowns' at Marseille pay-cut offer

Andre Dede Ayew is willing to commit his future to boyhood club Olympique Marseille but not to a reduced salary.

The 25-year-old is one of the big earners in the books of the cash-strapped Stade Velodrome side.

The Ghana international’s future with the club where he has been nurtured from childhood still remains in the balance as he has just three months left on his contract.

“In my head, everything is open. If I must leave then I shall. But I love Marseille. Soon we will meet about it,” Andre Ayew responded to a question from French media outlet, RTL over the weekend.

He however openly rejected suggestions of a pay-cut which has kept the club dragging their feet over a new deal for several months now.

”No, a player wants to advance in all aspects,” Ayew added.

Ayew, who scored on his return from the Afcon in Marseille’s 2-2 draw with Reims over the weekend was widely expected to make a move out of the club during the January transfer window but opted to stay while busy on national team assignment.

He reportedly earns €300,000 monthly salary at Marseille.
