Dede not perturbed by AFCON snub

Amidst all the brouhaha surrounding Andre Ayew’s exclusion from the Black Stars squad from the AFCON 2013 tourney, it seems the player is unperturbed about the situation as he feels he had a genuine case to report to camp late as a result of his injury.

The Olympique Marseille forward according to very close associates is of the opinion that he has not been treated fairly by the national authorities and has a clear conscience surrounding the whole saga as he seeks to move on from the whole unfortunate situation.

There have been rumours in the local media that there’s a grand conspiracy to prevent the Ayews from partaking in the tournament and with the surprise omission of Jordan Ayew from the squad, Andre’s exclusion was inevitable.

“All those rumours have been confirmed that there’s a hidden agenda against the Ayews from some faceless individuals within the corridors of the FA who are bent on giving the Ayews a bad name. They are trying to give convenient excuses to cover their shame. Dede doesn’t care and in fact is not concerned at all by the scheming going on as he knows the truth will come out in the end,” an associate of the player disclosed to 90MINUTES.

It will be recalled that Ayew failed to meet a two-day extension to arrive in Abu Dhabi on Monday –leading to Coach Kwesi Appiah’s decision to leave him out of the Ghana team. He has since rejoined his Marseille teammates who have pitched camp in Morocco ahead of the resumption of the French Ligue 1 this weekend.
