Dede out to avenge Marseille against PSG

Ghana forward Andre Ayew wants to avenge the painful 2-1 defeat suffered by Olympique Marseille at the hands of PSG as the two giants clash this weekend in Ligue 1.

Les Phoceens could return to the top of the French top flight with a win over the Champions while other contender, Olympique Lyon suffers a defeat at Guingamp.

Marseille was on the end of a painful defeat in the same fixture last season despite taking an early lead.

Andre Ayew handed the hosts a 34th-minute lead through the spot kick, but goals from Maxwell and Zlatan Ibrahimovic saw the side slump to a bitter defeat.

Ayew admits that loss remains etched in his memory as the most painful defeat suffered against PSG and is thus eager to make amends on Sunday.

“Let’s say the 1-2 last season at the Velodrome, very hard to forget. I scored, but the match went the wrong way,” Ayew told the press.

“This match is over for fans and for us. I cried after the game… We want to give our fans pleasure on Sunday. The fans showed me so much love since I got here that I feel really lucky.”
