Dede will win CAF footballer of the Year - GFA Ex. Co member Albert Commey

Ghana Ghana

Executive Committee member of the Ghana Football Association, Albert Commey has tipped Ghana’s Andre Ayew to beat his competitors for the African Footballer of the year award.

The annual CAF award sponsored by GLO is scheduled to come off this Wednesday at Lagos in Nigeria as the Ghanaian will be facing competition from Manchester City’s Ivorian midfielder Yaya Toure and Gabonese, Dortmund’s Gabonese attacker Piere Emerick Aubemeyang.

But the Aduana Stars boss is highly optimistic Andre Ayew will win the prestigious award over his competitors.

“Am a bit down when I hear people say Dede cannot win. I don’t know why they say that but for me my prayer is that the gentleman wins for Ghana to also enjoy in terms of the pride and bragging rights,” Commey said.

“Ayew’s performances for the country at the Afcon and during the qualifiers as well as his contribution to Swansea have been splendid. So I believe he will win it,” he added.

Andrew Ayew now with English side Swansea City in 2015 year under review helped Ghana to win silver at the year’s African Cup of Nations held in Equatorial Guinea.
