Asante Kotoko's assistant coach, David Ocloo, has expressed his team's determination to secure a third consecutive victory over Hearts of Oak.
The highly anticipated match between these two prestigious clubs is scheduled for Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at the Accra Sports Stadium, with kickoff at 6 pm.
This game is part of the celebrations marking 30 years of democratic governance in Ghana.
Ahead of the match, Ocloo emphasized their commitment to defeating their rivals for the third time in a row.
“We agreed to participate in the Democracy Cup because it’s a commendable initiative. Although we release many players at the end of the season, we have capable players to compete against Hearts of Oak.
“Training has been excellent, and I believe we are ready to silence Hearts of Oak. We’ve beaten them twice already, and we are determined to hand them their third defeat against us,” he said.
Asante Kotoko previously secured back-to-back wins over Hearts of Oak during the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season.
Additionally, before the main event, parliamentarians and former Black Stars players will compete at the same venue as part of the fan engagement activities.
