Anderlecht Ghanaian defender Dennis Appiah is set to go under the knife to correct a niggling calf injury.
He was expected to be fully fit in January, but he suffered a complication last week.
The Belgian powerhouse has confirmed that the 24-year-old will be available sometime in the new year after the surgery.
Appiah was injured late August, initially, Anderlecht said he would be out four to six weeks.
“He had a tear in the calf, and therefore now in the bone. It’s very complicated,” says René Weiler. “Appiah have tried to work out, but the pain remained”.
