Deputy sports minister visits amputee team

Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Vincent Oppong Asamoah has paid a courtesy visit to the Ghana National Amputee Football team during their training session at the Lizzy Sports Complex.

The deputy minister’s visit to the amputee football team was to get first-hand information about the playing body.

Ahead of their campaign in Mexico, the deputy minister who visited the team prior to their campaign in the amputee World Cup, urged corporate bodies to come to the aid of the amputee football team.

“It’s good that Ghana National Petroleum Company has come to the aid of the amputee team but that is not enough, we want more corporate bodies to come to their aid, so that we will not be getting those complaints again.”

“I am hopeful that this appeal will go a long way for the team, because this is what we have and we have to help but not to discriminate. The Ministry of Youth and Sports is very hopeful that the team will do well in the upcoming world cup in Mexico.”
