Derek Boateng Optimistic Of Satellites Qualification

Greek based Black Satellites midfielder Derek Boateng has been speaking about the determination of the Satellites to qualify for the semi-finals of the Africa Youth Cup currently underway in Burkina Faso.

The Satellites have so far scored just one goal from 180 minutes of play and have picked up only two points out of a possible six points by playing two draws.

The result is that the team under Coach A. K Edusei lies third in Group B behind the Ivory Coast who are at the summit with four points and Egypt who also have two points but have scored one goal more than the Satellites.

Derek Boateng, who scored Ghana’s only goal in the Africa Youth Cup so far, is optimistic that the team will qualify for the semi final of the competition and thereby pick up on of the four slots allotted to Africa at the World Youth Cup.

Derek Boateng says the Satellites are primed to beat Ivory Coast to make the semi-finals of competition. That match will be played on Saturday in Bobo Diolosso. But before then Mali will play Burkina Faso the hosts of the competition while Guinea and South Africa seemed to have guaranteed themselves exit from the competition.
