Derek Boateng in shock Eibar move in Spain

Ghana midfielder Derek Boateng will shockingly join newly-promoted Spanish top-flight side Eibar on Monday after leaving rivals Rayo Vallecano without playing an official match for them, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

Ghana’s leading football news outlet www.ghanasoccernet.com can authoritatively reveal that Boateng has been axed by Rayo Vallecano just one month after joining the club. He will arrive in Eibar on Monday afternoon to be unveiled by the newly-promoted top-flight side after being released by Vallecano.

Vallecano unveiled the Ghana midfielder Boateng last month as their new signing for the 2014/2015 season but has been released after failing to impress the coach.

The 31-year-old signed for the Los Franjirrojos early last month after a frustrating spell at English side Fulham but the challenges for Boateng will continue.

Boateng was given permission by Rayo Vallecano to sort out ‘personal issues’ following concerns over his fitness.

The well-travelled man could not find his place in the current Vallecano squad and has not yet convinced manager Paco Jemez of his qualities.

The Ghanaian international has been given the green light to look for other options as they were not keen on making him part of their squad for next season even though he signed for Vallecano just four weeks ago.

Boateng made just three appearances for Fulham in the just ended season which ultimately cost him a place in the Ghana squad for the 2014 World Cup.

He is determined to get his club career back on track having previously played for FC Cologne, Getafe and FC Dnipro among a host of clubs in Europe.
