Atletico Madrid star Thomas Teye Partey is hoping to repay coach Diego Simeone's faith in him with better performances next season.
The 23-year-old played 23 matches in all competitions as the Red and Whites finished third in La Liga last season, having also reached the final of the Uefa Champions League where they lost to Real Madrid on penalties.
“I think that there is only one thing the coach demands of every player and that is to give it your all,” Partey told Citi FM.
“The coach believes in me and tells me if I work hard, I have the ability to be one of the best in my position.
“So am encouraged to go out there and prove to him what I can do, to earn more playing time next season.”
Following a loan spell at Real Mallorca in 2013-14, the midfielder spent the following season on another loan deal at Almeria, scoring four times in 31 matches, before returning to Los Rojiblancos last season.
