Division 2: Coconut Sharks draw with Zakkour

Cape Coast Zakkour F/C held Elmina Coconut Grove Sharks to a pulsating 1-1 drawn game in their Central Regional second division sub - middle league match played at the Cape Coast sports stadium on Friday.

Kicking under the instruction of class one referee, James Odoom, the Sharks started strongly and took an early lead through their centre half, Joseph Adade in the 13th minute.

Adade after collecting a pass, outpaced two defenders and delivered a 30 yarder shot that the goalie had no answer to.

Undaunted by this early lead, Zakkour FC raised their tempo and pinned their opponents for greater part of the game but poor shooting upfront denied them the needed equaliser during the first half.

On resumption, Zakkour brought in John Okumpon for John Armah.

The change brought more bite into the game and following series of raids in their opponents' vital area, outside right Joe Yeboah leveled up matters with a sputnik-like shot in the 65th minute.

In the 70th minute, the Sharks took control of affairs and also made several attempts to carry the day but try as they did they could not find the match winner.
