The Division One League (DOL) Super Cup Committee convened an important meeting with all the qualified clubs on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, to finalize key details for the upcoming Super Cup competition.
The meeting aimed to ensure a smooth and successful tournament, addressing various logistical and operational aspects.
Samuel Opoku Nti, the Chairman of the Committee, who is a former Black Stars captain and a revered Asante Kotoko legend, welcomed all the Committee members and the participating clubs.
“I’m extremely excited that all the participating clubs are here. This shows readiness for the competition, and I believe after today’s meeting, every club will intensify their preparations for the tournament,” he noted.
The competition features all the winners from the three Division One League zones, their runners-up, and the best third-placed sides, ensuring a high level of competition and excitement.
The meeting covered several critical issues, including the format and structure of the competition, as well as finalizing the rules and guidelines that will govern the tournament.
The group draw and the fixtures for the tournament were also conducted to set the tone for an exciting competition.
Clubs were briefed on the deadline for submitting their squad lists and the strips they will use during the tournament. The deadline for these submissions is July 24, 2024.
With members of the Marketing Department of the FA present at the meeting, strategies for promoting the tournament and ensuring effective branding at the venues were also discussed.
Plans for the opening and closing ceremonies for the tournament were also discussed as the DOL Super Cup Committee aims to ensure an organized start to the tournament.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) will provide financial assistance to all participating clubs to help cover some of their expenses. This support aims to alleviate the financial burden on the clubs and ensure their full participation in the tournament.
The DOL Super Cup will kick off on July 29, 2024, and run until August 11, 2024.
The competition promises to be an exciting pre-season showcase of Ghanaian football talent, offering clubs an excellent opportunity to prepare for the upcoming season.
With the groups drawn and preparations well underway, anticipation is building for what promises to be a thrilling and competitive tournament.
