Dogbatse re-elected Chairman of Volta FA

Ho, Dec., 22, GNA - Mr Francis Dogbatse, Chairman of the Volta Regional Football Association (RFA) was on Wednesday re-elected to chair the Association for another four-year term. Mr Dogbatse polled 25 votes out of 41 votes cast to beat Mr Harry Atutornu who had 14 votes with Mr Charles Kwasi Gakpetor getting two votes.

The 41 delegates who took part in the elections were representatives of First and Second Divisions and juvenile football teams, coaches, referees, old footballers associations and tertiary institutions in the Region.

Mr Dogbatse said his vision for the RFA would remain the same with much concentration on seeking sponsorship for the clubs in the Region. He said he hoped to see the birth of third and fourth division clubs to enhance the development of football in the Region. Mr Dogbatse called on sports lovers in the Region to support the RFA financially as well as offer critical and objective criticism when necessary.

The election was conducted by officers from the Municipal Electoral Commission and supervised by Mr Maxwell Oduro Sarfo, a representative of the Ghana Football Association.
