Akyem Oda June 27, GNA - A 50-member cycling squad from Dome, a suburb of Accra last Friday embarked on a cycling tour of some parts of the Eastern Region to promote cycling as a catalyst to good health. Mr Kofi Boakye- Yiadom, Manager of Dome cycling squad told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) on arrival at Akyem Oda on Tuesday that the exercise was also to encourage more Ghanaians to take cycling as a sport.
He said the exercise that started from Accra took the squad through Akosombo, Koforidua and Akyem Oda, adding that it was also helping to promote local tourism since they were patronising local dishes on their way.
Mr Boakye-Yiadom commended drivers for their co-operation that had ensured an accident-free ride so far. Other members of the group included Mr Daniel Djangmah chairman, Mr Gustav Dedjoe deputy manager and Mr Kwabena Alla vice-chairman of Dome cycling squad.
