Former Ghana winger Bernard Don Bortey is confident new Black Stars coach Charles Kwablah Akonnor will succeed at his new position.
C.K Akonnor was named head coach of the Black Stars on Wednesday after Kwesi Appiah's contract was not renewed.
Bortey, who knows Akonnor very well, insists the former Hearts of Oak cannot be manipulated and won't tolerate any non sense from the players.
"CK Akonnor is a no nonsense coach, he will not be influenced by even the sports minister on player call ups," he told FOX FM.
"What CK Akonnor has done in football non of those playing for the Black Stars has done so, he will not listen to those who will ask him to use their players, so for the Black Stars coaching job he can do it easily," he added.
Akonnor will lead the team for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers and the World Cup qualifiers.
He might also be in charge of the team for AFCON 2021.
