Former Asante Kotoko forward Abdul Fatawu Safiu has hinted on returning to the club ‘one day’ to complete his unfinished business with the Porcupines.

The 25-year-old was the toast of fans during his stay with the Kumasi based club.

Abdul Fatwau Shafiu was the joint top scorer in the 2019 Normalisation Committee Special Competition Tier 1, bagging 10 goals in the process including the final against Karela United.

However the fans where angry with him for leaving them to Helsingborgs FC in the Swedish top-flight after the management of Kotoko had told him to stay and help them secure a spot in the CAF Champions League group stages.

In a chat with Daily Porcupine, Fatawu pleaded with Kotoko fans not to be angry with the way he left as he could come back to play for them in the future.

“They (Kotoko fans) should always remember that I am always there for them, who knows maybe in the future I might come back to play for them,” he said.

“They shouldn’t hate me because I left, I will always love them, they shouldn’t hate me because I respect and love them” he added.
