Kumasi, Aug 8, GNA-Stephen Frimpong-Manso, acting Team Manager and Assistant Coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, has expressed concern about attempts by some FM radio stations in Kumasi to sow seeds of disaffection among the players.
He said the management of the club will not take kindly to attempts by the three radio stations who advance what he termed, "dirty propaganda" to cause disaffection over the Charles Taylor issue.
Speaking to GNA Sports in Kumasi, Frimpong-Manso said the technical handlers of Kotoko had noted with concern stories being fabricated by some sports presenters of late to the effect that Kotoko players were aggrieved over what they perceive to be preferential treatment being given to Taylor by management.
"Now that the Charles Taylor saga is over, Kotoko should be left alone to concentrate on its assignments both local and international".
According to him, in spite of the vile propaganda, moral among the players was very high and every player had pledged his unflinching loyalty towards the progress of the club in all its assignments. Charles Taylor himself has said repeatedly that he was not bigger or better than any of the Kotoko players and this should be enough indication that he would not see himself as being above any of his colleagues, Frimpong-Manso added.
He reiterated that nothing will stop Kotoko from winning this year's league as the players, technical team, management and supporters were all prepared to sacrifice to achieve that feat.
The acting team manager therefore called on the supporters to exercise restraint and to rally behind the club for victory.
