Veteran Coach, E.K Afranie has advised John Painstil not to try coaching in Ghana at least not for now.

John Painstil was on Monday appointed as one of the Assistant coaches of Kaizer Chiefs Manager,Stephen Mbuyiselo Komphela to kick start his life as a coach.

The hope of any former player turned coach is to show his prowess in his homeland but Coach Afranie says if Painstil is harbouring any thought of the sort then he should put it in the back burner else he risks ending his fragile coaching career.

Speaking to Kasapa Sports on Tuesday, Coach E. K Afranie expressed his joy in his protege’s appointment and wished him success on his new chosen path.

I am very happy he has got this opportunity. John Painstil is one of the few players I always pray for because he is respectful and never forgets his humble beginnings and all those who helped him along the way. So I am happy he is starting this new journey, its always great to see my boys going into coaching. When I look atKwasi Appiah (Ex Black Stars Coach), CK Akunnor (Dreams FC) Michael Osei (Asante Kotoko SC) and now John who have taken after me I feel blessed. I know he wants to start in South Africa and come back to Ghana to continue here but I will advise him to stay there, do his job because wherever he is he will be noticed. He should focus on the job and if all goes well for him he should stay there. He should only come to Ghana if he is very prepared and he is coming for something bigger (his own academy, my academy or any of the national teams) but if its a club side in Ghana then he should forget it else he will destroy his career.
