Veteran Ghanaian football supporter, Abraham Boakye alias One Man Supporter, has made an audacious claim that the players of Dreams FC are good enough to represent Ghana in the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.

According to the president of Ghana Supporters Union, the head coach of Dreams FC and his players have demonstrated enough quality in their CAF Confederations Cup journey to convince him that, given the chance, they will outperform the Black Stars and qualify Ghana for the World Cup.

One Man Supporter argued vehemently on Angel FM that the Black Stars will be no match for Egyptian side Zamalek who drew with Dreams FC in Cairo on Sunday, April 21, 2024.

The draw has given Abraham Boakye the confidence that should the FA and coaches of the Black Stars trust the players of Dreams with Ghana's remaining games in the qualifying series, the country will make an appearance at the tournament that will be held in the US, Canada and Mexico.

“Dreams FC can qualify Ghana for the 2026 World Cup. If they can compete against Zamalek, then they are good enough to represent Ghana. Black Stars can never draw against Zamalek but Dreams FC did it so they are more than good to play for the Black Stars.

“We should praise Karim Zito and commend him for the incredible job he is doing. Karim Zito is integral to Ghana football and the success of our football depends on him. If it becomes necessary, let’s use Dreams FC and leave the professional players,” he said.

In the qualifiers, the Black Stars are currently third in Group I after one win and a defeat from the two opening matches.

Ghana started the qualifiers with a 1-0 victory over Madagascar in November 2023 before losing to Comoros by the same margin.

Up next for Ghana are games against Mali and the Central African Republic in June 2024.
