Duncan applauds assistant Osei for readying Kotoko team for El Eulma clash

New Asante Kotoko Head Coach David Duncan has hailed assistant coach Michael Osei for his “tremendous” effort in preparing the Porcupine Warriors team to secure a stalemate in the first leg of the CAF Champions League away clash at MC El Eulma on Saturday.

Though the 51-year-old Duncan supervised Kotoko’s goalless draw with El Eulma, Coach Osei was the tactician responsible for preparing the Porcupine Warriors for the continental assignment following the dismissal of Masud Dramani.

“The team’s performance today comes down to the tremendous work put in by Michael Osei. He invested a lot of efforts,” Duncan told pressmen in a post-match interview in Algeria.

The ex-Ashgold and Hearts trainer was also quick to criticize Kotoko’s profligacy in front of goal after Kwadwo Poku and Ahmed Toure missing some clear scoring chances.

“We could have fetched a goal if we had been a bit more purposeful upfront,” he stated.

David Duncan, the ex-Ashgold and Hearts trainer, will sign his two-year deal with Kotoko and begin preparations for the Premier League away clash with Bechem United once he returns with the 28-man contingent from Algeria.
