After almost seven weeks on the sidelines, Ghana midfielder Alfred Duncan made an injury return on Sunday as Sassuolo defeated Chievo Verona 2-0 in Serie A.
The 25-year-old became a key figure in the Novredi's midfield before his season was almost cut off by a knee injury he picked against Empoli.
In his absence, Sassuolo failed to win any of their four games but goals from Fredrico De Francesco and an own goal by Emmanuel Giancherrini brought them back on track at Stadio Marc'Antonio Bentogodi in Verona.
Duncan lasted 63 minutes before he was replaced by Giangcomo Magnani. The former Inter Milan youth star expressed his delight after his remarkable comeback.
Feels good to be back in action but mostly for the win we have been looking up to @SassuoloUS pic.twitter.com/V17RbDZzQH

Sassuolo have moved two places up to sixth with 18 points, three points below the automatic spot to participate in next season's Uefa Champions League. They will host Lazio next weekend before heading to Parma after the international break.
