THE Management of Cape Coast Mysterious Dwarfs has petitioned the Ghana Football Association to nullify the results of the last ABC premier league matches played last Wednesday and fix a convenient time for them to be re-played.
This is in view of what it termed as unfair advantage Dawu Youngsters gained over some clubs including Dwarfs following the failure of Hearts of Oak to honour that match at Dawu.
A statement signed by J. F. Mensah, a director of Dwarfs attributed Hearts’ failure to make the trip to GFA’s insensitivity to their request for postponement.
The statement reminded the GFA on its insistence on the honouring of the last matches at the same time to offer each club equal opportunity and level playing ground to operate in view of the crucial nature of the matches.
“As the situation stands now, the FA cannot be said to have offered each club level ground and therefore has not been fair in its dealings with some of the clubs,” the statement emphasised.
It therefore explained that the club has tasted relegation on three previous occasions and will therefore not raise any objections for a justifiable relegation.
In a related development, Dwarfs appealed to the GFA to nullify their league match against RTU at the Kaladan Park on Wednesday, August 23 based on two earlier protests sent to the GFA on the same issue dated August 24 and 31 respectively.
Affirming their claim for a replay, the statement drew the FA’s attention to the earlier ratification of the Appeals Committee’s Disciplinary Committee decision which banned RTU from playing two consecutive home matches.
“The ruling of the Appeals Committee therefore confirms our claim that the match should have been played on a neutral ground,” it pointed out.
According to the statement, RTU played that match without pardon after they had served only one match sentence.
“We believe this is in conflict with Article 41 1(g) of the GFA Regulations and therefore wish to request that the results of the RTU-Dwarfs match at Tamale be declared null and void and be replayed on a neutral ground sanctioned by the GFA in line with the decision of the Disciplinary Committee,” the statement concluded.
