Niger’s remarkable 4-0 victory over Sudan on Thursday in Lomé, Togo, has reignited Ghana’s hopes of qualifying for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

In a game that marked Niger’s first win of the qualifiers, Daniel Sosah’s brace, and a belter from Youssef Oumarou helped the Menas to deliver a dominant performance under challenging circumstances.

The result has thrown Group F wide open, giving Ghana a chance to secure qualification despite earlier setbacks.

However, Ghana face a tough test in their bid to secure a spot, Ghana must beat Angola on Friday and defeat Niger in Accra on Monday while hoping Angola beat Sudan on Monday, November 18, 2024.

Failure to win both games or a Niger victory over Ghana would end the Black Stars’ campaign. For Niger, a win over Ghana coupled with another Sudan loss to Angola will get them qualified ahead of Ghana and Sudan.

Sudan need just a point against Angola to advance. Which means they hold the advantage going into the last round of matches.

Despite Niger’s win, many Ghanaians on social media remain doubtful, questioning the Black Stars’ ability to beat Angola and Niger even if Sudan lose again to Angola in the final Group F game.

Ghana play Angola today, Friday, November 15, 2024, at 7pm GMT in Luanda, at the 11 de Novembro Stadium.

With most key players out of the team, Coach Otto Addo has urged fans to rally behind the team.
