Easy Purse for Hearts/Kotoko as Premiership Enters Week 17

The two most glamorous clubs in the history of Ghana football Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak may enjoy a sweat free weekend as both clubs play host to down-tabled clubs in the week seventeen of the Glo Premier League.

Former continental club masters Accra Hearts of Oak will welcome second from the bottom of the ladder club Bechem united to the Accra Sports Stadium. Hearts are second on the table with 30 points and have already sworn thunder and earth to over take Asante Kotoko for the top spot.

Bechem united on the other hand have only chalked 12 points out of sixteen matches. Hearts have strengthened their midfield with the signing of former Black Stars midfielder Laryea Kingston and his command in the middle will be Hearts’ main secret in the second round.

Hearts looks too expensive in all department of the game and the visitors will have little to offer to the phobian’s on Sunday.

At the Baba Yara stadium, the ‘Porcupine Warriors’ Kumasi Asante Kotoko will play as host to the ‘Scientific Soccer lads’ Liberty Professionals. Asante Kotoko occupies the top spot with 34 points and is on course to winning the league.

Liberty Professionals on the other hand are eighth on the ladder with 22 points. Liberty are still entertaining to watch but they’ve lost their winning mentality and stealing three points from Kotoko at this time of the season at the Baba Yara stadium needs something extra than play sheer entertaining soccer.

Knowing loosing this match could cause Hearts to closing the gap between them, Kotoko will fight to the last whistle but they should be weary of the threat from the camp of Liberty who are experiencing the toughest of season.

Mysterious Ebusua Dwarfs will host SC Medeama at the Roberts Mensah stadium in Cape Coast. Dwarfs are fifth on the table with 25 points whilst Medeama is ninth with 21 points.

Ebusua Dwarfs looks to have solved the problem which hunted the club at the tale end of last season as they walloped Tema Youth by 3 : 0 last weekend at the Tema astro turf park in their first match of the second round. Medeama will surely prove a strong point but trust Dwarfs to come out as victors after 90 minutes.

At the Nana Gyamfi Park in Bekwai, New Edubiase united will play as host to Tema Youth. The homesters are sixth on the log with 25 points whereas Tema Youth on the other hand are eleventh on the ladder with 19 points.

Tema Youth are unpredictable and can cause havoc on any day but playing New Edubiase with Emmanuel Baffour present is like facing Barcelona with Messi fit and ready to play on top of his game and once he’s playing one can easily conclude that there’s a goal in t he busket for the goal poacher.

African Champions League campaigners Berekum Chelsea will cross swords with Berekum Arsenal in a local derby at the Golden City Park. Chelsea is third on the log with 27 points whilst Arsenals have grabbed the last spot with 11 points.

Chelsea’s win in far away Liberia blind-folded them and they paid dearly for it last Thursday as they succumbed to a 0 : 3 defeat to Aduana stars but the news from their camp has it that they are ready for this encounter and they will surely pick all the points at stake but Arsenals also have different ideas.

At the Wa Park, fourth placed All Stars will welcome Aduana Stars in a match which promises to be full of fire works. Aduana Stars is seventh on the table with 25 points but journeying to the upper west to face All Stars looks done and dusted for the homesters.

Soccer miners, Ashantigold fc will travel to the Sekondi Park to play as guest to Wassaman united. Ashgold is tenth on the table with 20 points whilst Wassaman are fourteenth with just 12 points. The home team looks certain to picking their first three points at home in the second round but a draw in this match will be a fair result.

However, on Monday at the Accra Sports Stadium, Mighty Jets will play as host to Hearts of Lions. There’s only a point separating these two sides and a win for one will see him jump over the other. The home team looks the favorite to winning the game but Lions are not minnows when it comes to picking a point at the Accra Sports Stadium.
