FC Sion striker Ebenezer Assifuah made his Ghana debut on Sunday in the 0-0 draw with Mozambique on Sunday afternoon in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

Assifuah was handed a starting role and played for 78 minutes before being replaced by Abdul Majeed Waris after picking up a foot injury.

The 22-year-old came close to scoring early on in the first half but his blistering header from inside the box on a cross floated from the right was wide.

Assifuah, who was the 2013 FIFA U20 World Cup goal king, has netted five goals in 23 league matches for Sion in the Swiss Super League.

He also played for his side in the Europa League.
