Former Hearts of Oak attacker, Gilbert Fiamneyo has revealed that former Hearts of Oak goalkeepers’ trainer Eddie Ansah was the brain behind the sacking of former coach Hebert Addo.

Fiamenyo who blamed the club’s poor display in last season’s league on disunity among the coaches at the dug-out, insisted that Eddie Ansah should not have accepted the coaching job after Herbert was sacked.

Despite the technical changes the Phobians still failed to impress as they nearly got relegated, beating the 14th placed team Heart of Lions with only a slim goal difference.

Revealing the cause of the club’s predicament last season, Gilbert Fiamenyo whose contract got expired at the end of the season noted that the technical team of the club was not united.

“There was no unity among the coaches. When the head coach was struggling with the team, the other coaches were supposed to help him but they did not do that. All the coaches did not care,” Fiamenyo told Brigde FM in Akosombo.

“All the coaches wanted the position so they wanted Herbert Addo to be sacked. How can Eddie Ansah just accept the job and say he wants to be appointed? It means they all wanted Herbert Addo to go,” he added.

The Phobians endured a torrid campaign which saw the club finishing 13th, two goals above Heart of Lions to escape relegation.
