Ghanaian youngster Edmund Baidoo was on target for Sogndal in their 2-1 defeat to IK Start in the Norwegian 1st Division on Tuesday evening.

The match, which took place at Sparebanken Sør Arena, saw Sogndal assert their dominance with more possession, but IK Start was more clinical in front of goal.

The head-to-head record for the teams before the clash favored Start with 8 wins, while Sogndal had 4 wins, and there were 6 draws. Edmund Baidoo started the game and played for 67 minutes.

He scored the opening goal of the match in the 26th minute. Oliver Hintsa won the ball high in the midfield and passed it to Edmund Baidoo. The right winger attempted a finish from outside the 16-meter area, and the ball snuck inside the posts to give Sogndal a 1-0 lead.

However, IK Start fought back and equalized just before the half-time break. A corner was cleared far by Daniel Arrocha, allowing IK Start to attack again. Faites Makosso took a shot from long range, Jendal had to pass, and Tom Strannegård was the quickest to react, scoring the equalizer.

In the 8th minute of added time, Sander Sjökvist found an unmarked Eirik Schulze in the box. He showed confidence in the box and scored the winning goal, giving IK Start a 2-1 victory.

Baidoo has now made ten appearances in the Norwegian 1st Division this season, scoring four goals and providing one assist.
