Two newly promoted sides Accra great Olympics and Elmina Sharks are set to battle for the signature of attacking midfielder Ali Tanko ahead of the kickoff of the 2016/17 Ghana Premier League season.
Tanko, 20, starred for B.A United in the Ghana Premier League two seasons ago as well as in the GN Bank Division One League in the just ended season.
Sources close to the Elmina-based side have revealed that plans are far advanced to sign the defense-splitting attacking midfielder but Ghanasoccernet.com has gathered that Ghana's most accoladed club Great Olympics are set to ambush the deal.
The Andre Ayew-like attacker also had stints with former Premier League campaigners Kpando Heart of Lions before they were relegated two seasons ago.
Tanko who plays excellently as a left midfielder as well as on the left flank, also plays very well as a second striker.
The battle for his signature has been described by many who appreciate his prowess as a battle for versatility as he is expected to add more bite to any side that secures him.
