Dutch-born Ghanaian youth forward Elton Acolatse hit a double for Jong Ajax who run rout at Jong FC Twente after hammering them 5-1 in the Dutch Eerste Divisie on Friday night.
The 19-year-old used eight minutes in the second-half (63rd and 71st) to register his first league goals of the season and ensured Ajax took a comfortable lead at the Sportpark De Toekomst before 470 watching home fans.
Ajax had had their lead defrayed by a Jari Oosterwijk 32nd minute effort but Acolatse returned from the break to restored his side’s lead and added the second to put the game beyond the visitors.
Duarte laid an articulate free-kick from the right which was spilled by the Twente keeper. And, Acolatse arrived in time to connect the ball home. His second was much more of an individual brilliance. He completed a beautiful attack he initiated by slamming the ball home for his second of the night.
Acolatse was not the only Ghanaian in action for Jong Ajax in the game as midfielder Leeroy Owusu also played the full 90 minutes of the game. However, midfielder Mustapha Yahaya was unused by Twente.
Kenny Tete remains with the Ajax first team squad for the weekend Eredivisie fixture.
