Former Dutch youth international striker Elvis Manu expects his move to English second tier side Albion to help fast-track him on to the international stage by playing for Ghana.
The Seagulls frontman is waiting for a call from his new national team boss Avram Grant after switching allegiance from Holland to Ghana.
He is convinced a move from top-flight Eredivisie to English second-tier football will not adversely affect his international ambitions.
Manu, who made his debut at Wolves last week, said: “I spoke with the Ghana coach and he said when my papers are through he will give me a call so I’m waiting. It should be soon. I don’t know when.
“Being here is a good move. If you compare the Dutch league to the Championship, you can’t say the Dutch is better The Championship is harder, more physical, more pace, more strength.
“I don’t feel like it is a step backwards for me.”
Manu believes he has more to offer than was shown in his 45 minutes at Molineux.
The striker was born in Holland to Ghanaian parents and his decision to switch allegiance and play for the Black Stars will boost the attacking options of Ghana.
