Ex-Dutch Eeredivisie star Geert den Ouden has likened Ghanaian attacker Elvis Manu to former Netherlands star striker Roy Makaay.
The former ADO Den Haag star has sharply criticised Ghanaian attacker for his blunders against Standard Liege but says he is mostly played out of position.
“He plays well on the side, he can be a man over there and deliver crosses that will be really important,” he told Soccer News.
The 38-year-old feels Manu plays well like former Bayern Munich star Roy Makaay who made his name at the same club Manu is playing now.
“He can make a goal if he wants but I think he’s more of a winger than a striker just like Roy Makaay (who is now coach of Feyenoord A1). Manu could still learn a lot. Manu shoot especially strength, whereas this is not necessary,” he added.
Manu’s influential performance this season has seen him assisted eight goals in all competitions and scoring twice in the Uefa Europa League – against FC Zorya and Standard Liege.
