Feyenoord attacker Elvis Manu was crowned Ghanaian Player Abroad of the Week by GHANAsoccernet.com and Ghana Television SportsPlus on Sunday night’s Top11 show.
The 21-year-old Dutch-born claims the prestigious Television Award following his heroics for Feyenoord in the Uefa Europa League against Standard Liege on Thursday and in the Dutch Eredivisie.
Manu scored an 82nd minute sensational goal to hand Feyenoord their first European group stage win in six seasons.
He also went ahead to play and help Feyenoord to a comfortable 4-0 win over Groningen.
The panel – Benjamin Willie Graham (GHANA Television), Ameenu Shardow and Rahman Osman (both of GSN) unanimously picked Manu for the award.
He beat competition from Kazakhstan-based Patrick Twumasi who scored a hat-trick for Astana on Saturday and Sulley Muntari who scored a stunning goal for AC Milan against Chievo Verona.
South African-based Abdul Basit Adam won the award last weekend but he has lot it to Manu.
The Top11 Show on GTV SportsPlus highlights the performance of Ghanaian players across the globe by showing video of goals scored and also discussing major happenings around Ghanaian stars abroad.
It is shown every Sunday night at 19:00 GMT. Remember you can find the GTV SportsPlus channel online and watch the show week Sunday night.
