Ghanaian winger Emmanuel Boateng delivered a standout performance in the New England Revolution's 2-1 victory over FC Cincinnati in Major League Soccer (MLS) on Saturday.

The match, held at TQL Stadium, saw Boateng play a crucial role in securing the win for his team.

Before the game, the head-to-head record between the two teams stood at two wins for FC Cincinnati, five wins for the New England Revolution, and three draws.

Boateng started the game and played for 81 minutes, during which he provided the assist for the second goal, scored by Giacomo Vrioni in the 41st minute. Vrioni had opened the scoring in the 21st minute with a left-footed shot from outside the box, assisted by Carles Gil.

FC Cincinnati pulled one back in the 65th minute through Yamil Asad's header, assisted by Luciano Acosta from a corner. However, their hopes of a comeback were dashed when Obinna Nwobodo received his second yellow card in the 69th minute for a bad foul.

In the 81st minute, Ghanaian defender Jonathan Mensah replaced his compatriot Emmanuel Mensah.

Boateng, 30, has been a valuable asset to the New England Revolution in the 2024 MLS season, having played 12 games, scoring once, and providing two assists so far.
