Veteran Ghanaian goalkeepers' trainer Eric Amponsah is part of the Sudanese national team coaching staff led by Ghanaian coach, Kwasi Appiah.
He has worked for Ghana Premier League giants Accra Hearts of Oak and Medeama Sporting Club as a goalkeepers' trainer.
The experienced trainer is tasked with transforming the goalkeeping department of the Sudanese national team.
His training prowess has been evident, as the Sudan national team goalkeeper, Abou, made crucial saves to deny the Black Stars from scoring at the Accra Sports Stadium in the AFCON qualifiers.
Amponsah, being part of Kwasi Appiah's technical team, led war-torn Sudan to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) for the first time in 16 years.
After playing six matches in the 2025 AFCON Qualifiers, Sudan finished second in Group F with eight points.
Angola topped the group with fourteen points, while Niger accumulated seven points, placing them in third position.
At the bottom of the group was Ghana, who accrued three points after losing 1-2 to Niger at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Sudan joined Angola as the two teams that qualified from Group F.
The team scored five goals, conceded six, and kept two clean sheets. Sudan won two games, drew two, and lost two.
