Dutch-born Ghanaian attacker Erixon Danso warmed the bench for Eredivisie side FC Dordrecht on Saturday as they suffered a 6-2 home loss against Vitesse Arnhem on his return to the club.
The 25-year-old signed a season’s contract last week to seal his return to the Sheep Heads but he was unused as he watched the entire game from the bench in their loss reverse against Vitesse.
Before the game, the former FC Utrecht winger took to Facebook to express his eagerness to play but he could not make his Eredivisie return.
Danso played an influential role in FC Dordrecht’s promotion campaign as he netted 13 times in 31 games last season.
But the club failed to secure him for the start of the season due to a relationship breakdown.
He has some degree of experience in the Dutch top-flight after playing three seasons for FC Utrecht.
