Espanyol President Joan Collet has hit out at Mubarak Wakaso, after the midfielder criticised the club over a new contract.
The Ghana international admitted he was 'very angry and sad' after negotiations between himself and the Periquitos broke down.
But the team's chief has hit back at the 23-year-old.
“We are offering twice his current wages,” Collet told AS. “And we cannot offer any more.
“We cannot pay him any more than that, or accept offers that we deem unacceptable.
“I do not want a debate, and I think Wakaso should be grateful.”
Espanyol has received an offer of $6 million from Russian side, Rubin Kazan, with an offer of 1.3 million per year salary to the player compared to $400,000 being offered. Juventus has also made a similar offer.
"I am looking for the best for me and my family. Now, I can not say anything for sure about the future. I hope that everything goes better, I will continue here, but there are many, many things to improve on my contract" said Wakaso
