Former Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien has lauded Spanish-Ghanaian forward Nico Williams for his stellar performance against England in the Euro 2024 final.

Nico Williams scored the first goal in the game to give Spain the lead as they defeated England 2-1 to win Euro 2024 at Berlin's Olympiastadion on Sunday, July 14, 2024.

Essien, who was at the stadium to watch the game, described the youngster's performance as fantastic and amazing.

"He was amazing, amazing. I mean, as a young player, turning up in this big game, scoring for your country, I mean, what more can I say? He has been fantastic," he told Sporty TV.

Nico Williams ended Euro 2024 with two Man of the Match awards, two goals, and an assist.
