Michael Essien will not leave Milan when the transfer window opens, despite interests from Major League Soccer sides.
According to his agent, Fabien Piveteau, the midfielder will stay with the Rossoneri and has no plans to move in the winter.
Essien’s contract with the Serie A side ends in the summer, and has not yet been offered a renewal, but his agent is assuring that the former Chelsea star will remain at San Siro until at least June.
“Will Michael leave Milan in January? No, he’ll stay,” Piveteau told MilanNews.
“Essien will stay at Milan until June. Many teams like him, and he’s had some contact with other clubs, but he’s signed a contract with Milan and he wants to stay with the Rossoneri until June.”
