Ethics Committee verdict 'bogus' - Mickey Charles

Techiman City Techiman City

Techiman City FC President Mickey Charles has said that he gave the GFA Ethics Committee’s ruling letter he was served with, showing that his club has been demoted to Division two for match-fixing to a groundnut seller after receiving it on Monday.

According to him the deplorable nature of the verdict was such that he could not keep the letter but to give to the groundnut seller at the GFA secretariat.

Mickey Charles believes the Ethics Committee lack the required facts to come out with such verdict.

“What kind of a letter is that? After reading it, I quickly gave the sheet to a groundnut seller at the FA’s secretariat.

“I found out that the ruling comes with no further proof of the said bribery allegation case leveled against me and Techiman City FC,” Micky Charles told Atinka FM.

Mickey Charles added that Techiman FC will not accept the ruling and will do all they can to overturn it.

"When you read the verdict it is clear that the ruling has no facts to support it and so Techiman City will not accept that; we can't accept the ruling. We will appeal and do all we can to overturn the verdict. Trust me on this.

“What surprises me most is the fact that a portion of the ruling reads like the game was played in a competitive manner if you admit the match was honored in a competitive manner then why this verdict.

“I have received lots of calls since yesterday after the verdict but I want to remain calm for now until our press release is finally out.

“If it is somebody who is behind the downfall of Techiman City then I will say the person has bitten what he cannot chew and his plans will yield him no fruits.
