Etoile Filante Hold Kotoko

Kumasi Asante Kotoko were held 1-1 by visiting Etoile Filante in an international friendly at the Baba Yara stadium in Kumasi Thursday afternoon.

The match was played in honour of the ex mayor of Kumasi Maxwell Kofi Dwumah.

After a slow start to the first half, in which Kotoko spurned several goal-scoring opportunities, the game came alive in the second half.

The visitors stunned the home crowd with the first goal but Kotoko got the equalizer in the last five minutes of the match, through Ivorian striker Ahmed Traore.

The Ivorian?s strike will surely impress Kotoko coach Malik Jabir, who is evaluating the strikers? performance.

Meanwhile Kotoko striker Nana Arhin Duah is currently in Iran for trials. Arhin duah is expected to be away for one week.

In a related development, former Kotoko skipper, Joseph Hendricks is in Egypt for trials with Egyptian giants Ismailia.

Hendricks who currently plays for AshantiGold is expected to secure the deal following the appointment of former Kotoko coach Hans Dieter Schmidt by the Egyptian outfit last Monday.

Hendricks was captain of Kotoko when the German led the Porcupine warriors to the finals of the confederations cup earlier this year.
