Ghanaian youth international Eugene Ansah won his first ever career silverware after his KSC Lokeren side edged Zulte-Waregem 1-0 at the final of the Belgian Cup on Saturday at the Stade Roi Baudouin.
The youngster becomes the second Ghanaian to lift the trophy after Bennard Kumordzi won it last season with KRC Genk.
Danish midfielder Alexander Scholz won the game for Lokeren with a 57th minute strike.
Though the 19-year-old former Liberty Professionals attacker was an unused substitute in the game, he played an influential role for Lokeren en route to the final as he scored an important penalty in the semi-final win.
With the title won, Ansah will have the chance of playing in next season’s Uefa Europa League competition with Lokeren.
