Everton watch Ayew

Everton have had a busy weekend of scouting over the bank holiday, watching Andre Ayew as his future with Marseille looks increasingly unsettled.

The Blues were unable to watch Luca Marrone for Juventus, but watched Ayew as Marseille beat Valenciennes 1-0.

They weren’t alone though, as Joe Kinnear from Newcastle United was also present, presumably as he could actually pronounce this player’s name.

Ayew will claim an assist in the only goal of the game, having had his powerful header well saved leaving Andre-Pierre Gignac with a simple tap-in from close range.

The 23 year old Ghanaian had come close earlier in the game forcing an impressive save from another powerful header.

With 43 international caps to his name but only 4 international goals, and having spent two seasons away from Marseille on loan, he could become available should Roberto Martinez want to beat Newcastle to the punch.
